Completed in 2003, Landmark Place is a 92 unit condominium complex in downtown Oakland. A modern interpretation of a craftsman style building was created to satisfy the demands of the Historic Preservation Board and concerned neighbors. Andrea Montalbano acted as Lead designer and Project manager for the project. A retail space is located on the corner of MLK Jr. Way and 11th Street, opposite a city park. Fences and planters divide the internal courtyard into shared and private outdoor space. The first floor contains two story live/work units, opening up to the courtyard within. The second through fourth floors contain a combination of stacked flats and two story units.
